Depression Therapy

What is depression?

Everyone feels down from time to time, but these feelings don’t usually last for more than a few days. For someone with depression the sadness lasts much longer and begins to interfere with their daily life. A person with depression may experience feelings of helplessness, guilt, irritability, crying, difficulty concentrating, lack of desire or motivation, changes in their sleeping and eating habits, decrease in interest of social interactions and a decreased sex drive.

What can I do?

Many people who experience depression never seek help, but things can get better with treatment. If you think that you are depressed, you can seek the help of Montreal Psychologist or a Montreal Therapist for an assessment and treatment. You are welcome to call if you have any questions about treatment and therapy or to schedule an appointment.

How can depression treatment help?

Because each person experiences depression differently, depression treatment is individualized to address your specific symptoms. The psychologist will ask you about the problems you are experiencing and will help you to explore the feelings that are contributing to your mood and to discover the underlying cause of your depression. The psychologist will help you develop coping strategies so that you can manage your current emotions and help prevent the depression from returning in the future.
